The COVID-19 virus continues to make an impact on the world. While it is here, it is important to keep safety in mind and follow protocols offered by the CDC for masks and social distancing.
Many people may feel a little stir crazy being stuck at home, but you can still have some fun even during the pandemic. Here are some neat ideas to keep you sane during these crazy times.
Tip 1: Take a Road Trip
You may not be able to go to a baseball game or a spring break pool party, but you can travel to many different places where you can still have fun and social distance.
The point is to go where you can spend time with your family without being around large crowds.
National Parks and Camping
Whether there is a national park near your home or across state lines, pack up the family and spend a weekend enjoying the foilage, watching the wildlife, and taking on hikes on pleasant trails or more challenging treks.
Another great idea is to take the family camping. The chances are that you have a campground near your area, so look online for the nearest location. This is a great bonding adventure where you can build a tent, roast marshmallows, and get out of the house.
Trips
There are other road trip options, as well. You can pack up the family to see one of many exciting national landmarks around the nation.
Some states even have safari parks that you can visit where you can stay in your car and watch exotic animals as they live in their natural habitat.
Tip 2: Go outside
Even if you don't travel far, there are still plenty of things to see outside of your home during an afternoon or for a day trip.
If the weather is right, you can take the family on a fun picnic at the local park, or you can just go out and throw the frisbee or just run around with the dog for a few hours.
A small gathering of friends can create many enjoyable experiences where you can have fun during the pandemic.
Set up a cornhole tournament or a bocce ball game. You can have a little happy hour party out on the patio. If you are by yourself, find a good book and read it out in the sunshine.
Tip 3: Go to an Indoor Establishment
Yes, social distancing and mask policies still apply at most establishments, but that doesn't mean you can't still go out and have indoor fun. Many restaurants, aquariums, and movie theaters are open. You just have to wear a mask while you are there. You can even make your own mask.
Right now, outdoor movie theaters are seeing a resurgence of sorts as families can enjoy a flick while social distancing. Check your local area for a theater near you.
Many malls are also open for business, and although you may have to wear a mask, you can do some power walking or visit the many stores that are still allowing customers. Buy something for yourself as a reward for staying safe!
