There is nothing quite as exciting as getting a present on a birthday, holiday, or any other special occasion. The thrill of unwrapping a mystery item is one of the joys of life that never gets old no matter your age.
So, if you are giving someone a present, you should add to the excitement by wrapping it. Some people struggle with the process, but it is actually very easy. It only takes three steps.
Step 1: Lay out enough wrapping paper to cover all sides of the box.
The three-step process of wrapping a present begins by ensuring that you have enough paper to wrap the gift without having to cut additional pieces.
An easy way to do this is to roll the box or item over the paper to see how much paper will be needed for each side. It is better to be safe than sorry and include slightly more than you think you will need, especially if you aren’t an expert wrapper.
Step 2: Fold in the right side and left side of the paper.
The second step is to start folding and taping. With the box in the middle of the paper, fold the paper over one side, so it lands in the middle of the box. Tape that side down to the box.
Then fold the other side of the paper over. It should overlap the paper on the other side just a bit. Tape that side to the paper that is already taped down.
You don’t want a space between both sides of the paper where you see the box in the middle.
Step 3: Fold in the paper at the top and bottom of the package.
The third and final step is to finish the job by wrapping the two remaining sides.
If you have a square box, fold in the side edges into the middle of the side of the box. If you do this with both hands, then you will make triangles or trapezoid shapes on the top and bottom.
Now, fold down the top part and then fold up the bottom part, which secures the bottom part.
Tape the top of the triangle to the box to secure both pieces of paper.
Wrap Up and Final Notes
These are the instructions for a square or rectangular box. If you have a different shape box or you are wrapping something like a piece of clothing, then some modifications may be necessary. However, the same principle generally always applies.
If wrapping a present is still too complicated, then you always have the option of a gift bag filled with tissue paper.
